President's Speech Dear Colleagues: I hope that you all had a nice holiday season and were able to have some down time with family and friends. Taking a look ahead, as the new President of PANH, I am very excited about the upcoming 2008 year. This year will mark the 25th Anniversary of PANH. On May 23, 1983, PANH was incorporated as a non-profit organization with the NH Secretary of State. We have much to celebrate this year and please keep your eyes on the Annotator as well as the website for upcoming events to celebrate this momentous anniversary. In addition, the goals for the upcoming year include providing the membership with new and interesting CLE opportunities. This year we hope to implement more education opportunities for our members. NH has had growth of paralegals who have attained Certified Paralegal and Registered Paralegal status. CLE’s are necessary more than ever before and it is only natural that our members be given opportunities to get their continuing education credits through their professional state organization. The Board is currently planning some educational seminars that will take place throughout the coming year. The Board is open to new ideas on areas of continuing education our members would be most interested in attending, so suggestions for continuing education are welcomed and encouraged. It is the Board’s goal to sponsor affordable CLE’s, which members may use in receiving credits for maintaining Certified Paralegal and Registered Paralegal status as required by NALA and NFPA respectively. If you have any suggestions for areas of practice that you would be interested in seeing PANH sponsor please contact the CLE Committee Chair Bonnie Kimnach at bkimnach@coopercargillchant.com. As this is a year for celebration, I am asking all members to take an active role in the organization. This can be achieved through becoming a member of the 25th Anniversary Planning Committee. This is a year for celebrating PANH, celebrating our members and most importantly celebrating our profession. Please consider becoming involved in PANH and please feel free to contact me at any time. My personal e-mail address is speters@NKMS.com and I would love to hear from you. Stacey Peters PANH President |
